Paddlepillar Rescue Mission!

Pimiento loved to spend time outside of the Nook. Exploring all the lil places around the town and surrounding areas put a lot of fun in his day! Sometimes he'd go out with Tucker, Syn or Harley, just a couple of Wynglings getting in mischief and having a ton of fun outside. Other times, like today, he'd make the trek alone. He wasn't exactly searching for anything, there was no destination in mind, he just enjoyed rampaging about looking for the most fun he could have. Of course with how hot it was sometimes the best place wasn't always the place Pimi thought was fun.

Palamino Lake was one of the favorite gathering spots for Wyngro all across the town, especially during this time of year. Pimiento had gone a few times since hatching, it had been where he learned how to swim. Thing was, it had never been the funnest experience had had. Swimming was difficult, even for an excited and willing to learn Wyngling like himself. Meanwhile his friend Tucker took to swimming as if he was a Puckoo diving for a rock! Pimiento would be lying if he said he wasn't jealous but spending times splashing around the shallows was just as much fun! Of course all that changes when a Paddlepillar shows up on the scene.

Drifting along the lake without a care in the world was a big, fat juicy Paddlepillar in a hat of all things floating with a nice little collection of berries. Paddlepillars were known to be expert floaters but Pimi had never heard of one using an upside down hat as a means of flotation. This intrigued Pimiento incredibly but a larger part of him also wanted the hat! Paddlepillars could float on their own and sooner or later a Wyngro would be filled with that need to save it anyhow! 

Splashing into the water Pimiento worked hard to remember how to keep his head above water, he hated wet ears, and still kick to propel himself through the water. It wasn't far and this being a lake the hat didn't go much of anywhere making it easy to traverse to. Kicking and pushing himself through the water he made his way over to the sleepy little Paddlepillar. First thing he did once it was in reach was let out a grateful sigh before carefully grasping the band of the hat in his mouth. Then it was a matter of swimming the hat back to shore, Paddlepillar and all. Once on land Pimi carefully scooped out the Paddlepillar and piled the berries  around it. 

"There you go," He said before picking up the waterlogged hat up by the bill and shaking it profusely. They'd know how to dry it off at the Nook. Even if they didn't it was quite the find! "Thanks Paddlepillar! Enjoy your berries!"
